Makeup is a universal language for those looking to express themselves in a different way. As someone’s makeup journey evolves, so does their knowledge of the products they use. Three different Byram Hills High School students shared their makeup routines and their favorite products. Maybe you will find the item missing from your bag?
To start, sophomore Jessie Abatemarco applies the Benefit Porefessional Primer. Next, she goes in with the Hoola Bronzer by Benefit to “warm up the face.” Moving onto her eyes, she applies the L’Oréal Telescopic Mascara to her lashes. “I love how it makes my eyelashes pop and look fierce” Jessie shared. She concludes her eye makeup by swiping the Sephora Collection Liquid Eyeliner across her lash line.
She then moves on to the last two steps of her routine. Jessie loves using the “Kylie Cosmetics Shimmery lip gloss to add a sparkly pop.” To finish her makeup she applies her “final touch”: Nars highlighter on her “nose, cheekbones, and cupid’s bow.” Jessie’s routine provides a simple and beautiful casual makeup look for everyday wear.
Next, we have junior Bella Olivieri. Bella starts by putting the Smashbox Original Photo Finish Smooth & Blur Oil-Free Primer on her face and eyes. “For my mascara, I like to use Outrageous Curl by Sephora Collection which makes my lashes look really long and isn’t clumpy,” Bella explained. She uses the Sephora Collection Liquid eyeliner on her lash line and the Sephora Collection pencil eyeliner on her lower waterline.
For foundation, she applies the “Fenty Beauty Foundation with a Beauty Blender.” She then conceals her under eyes with the Tarte Shape Tape concealer. Continuing her face routine, Bella goes in with the Benefit Hoola Bronzer to accentuate her cheekbones. The next step is Trish McEvoy blush in shade Pink Glow. Bella loves how “the blush adds color to the face and brings the look together.”
Bella also loves the Sephora Brow Brush she uses to apply the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow to her eyebrows. To “add a sparkly pop,” Bella applies the Bobbi Brown Highlighter to her “nose, cheekbones, and chin”. She finishes her look with the Too Faced Lip Injections gloss to make her lips stand out.
For senior Lulu Cannan’s everyday look, she starts with the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer. “It’s very light coverage but I like how it gives my skin a nice base and a nice glow,” she added. Next, she uses the Tarte Shape Tape concealer under her eyes, on the high points of her face, and on any imperfections she wants to cover. She applies and blends these products with the Sephora Collection Makeup Sponge.
The next step is Maybelline Fit Me Face Powder. Lulu stated that she likes to use this product “to set the concealer and add some extra coverage.” Next, Lulu uses the Benefit Hoola Bronzer on her “cheekbones, forehead, and nose”. A special trick she shared is that she uses a “brush from Tarte to add some extra color to my face.” To brighten up her face she uses the highlighter from Becca Cosmetics on the “tip and bridge of the nose, the inner corners of the eyes, and the eyelids to add a fun effect.”
For mascara, Lulu uses the L’Oréal telescopic, which she considers “the most important part of my routine.” She uses the Glossier Boy Brow Tinted Eyebrow Gel to fill in parts of her eyebrows, then an eyebrow brush to “brush them out.”
Lastly, she uses the Rose Scented Glossier lip balm, and “for special occasions, the Glossier Clear lip gloss or the Tinted lip gloss from Fenty Beauty.”
The all-star products from these three students seem to be the Hoola Bronzer by Benefit, the Shape Tape concealer by Tarte, and the Telescopic Mascara by L’Oréal. Which of the products discussed will you be adding to your makeup bag?
